This series is about Kaiba Seto and Priest Seto fighting over Atem.
Neither of them backs down. They never back down, right to the end.
I’m writing about the struggle itself. There is no scenario where one steps aside and everything resolves neatly. It deals with domination, dependence, and possessiveness. Some stories contain sexual content.
And on top of that, both of them genuinely love Atem. You don’t have to doubt that.
Seto Kaiba is carrying the memories of a man who died three thousand years ago, and has no intention of doing anything they tell him.
The Pharaoh has gone where he was always going to go. Kaiba follows him there alive, because the alternative is dying first, and he does not intend to lose to a dead man — least of all to the one whose face he happens to be wearing.
So there are two of them now, with the same soul behind them and the same colour of eye, in the same afterlife, wanting the same king. One has three thousand years of patience. One has the entire present century. Neither will move first while Atem is watching, which means Atem does not find out for quite a long time.
When he does, the road splits.
1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5
├─ 6a Seizing the Trump Card ── ends here
└─ 6b The Net of Time → 7 To Stand Together
├── 8a REAL
├── 8b DREAM
└── 8c IDEAL
Chapters 1–5 are the common route. After that the story splits, and splits again.
6a and 6b begin from the same point and go to completely different places. 6a is self-contained; 6b continues. The three endings at 8 are alternatives to one another.
None of the branches is the "true" one. Read any, or all, in any order. Chapter 7 continues from 6b, not from 6a.
Ratings and warnings vary by part. Please check the tags on each individual work — the branches differ considerably in content, and some carry warnings that others do not.
